Throwing a Party

Throwing a party, for kids or adults, can be an enjoyable experience if you plan the steps carefully, What day will you have it on, will it be evening or an afternoon, is it going to be a costume affair, what type of party are you planning, will it have a theme, or will it be a come as you are, is it to be held indoors or outdoors in the afternoon or evening, what is the occasion, how many guest do you plan for, is it for close friends, do you cater for uninvited party crashers, all these things and more have to be taken into consideration, use a notepad to jot down ideas that come to mind, when you are done sit down and start refining them.

Is it going to be a costume party, if so, is there a theme to the party, throwing a costume party without a theme then your guests can opt for a costume of their choice, an the other hand, if it is to be a themed party, then you should give invited guests advance notice of the type of costume they are expected to wear, this can be done when you send out your invitations, what kind of entertainment are you planning on having, Throwing a party for kids, finding games for them, there is a lot of free advice on games to be had by a search on the internet it will also tell you how to play them, if you are hosting an adult party, the same can be had for adult entertainment.

Prepare as much as possible ahead of time, such as your planning, and buying of supplies, decorations, balloons, hats, paper plates/cups, plastic utensils, many of the party supplies can be bought on the internet where you are able to get a full party package, if you take this route make sure you give yourself plenty of time for delivery, the night before the party do the decorating, and lay out as much as possible, maybe you can have a friend help with the workload,

Are you planning for a catering company to supply the food, if so this can save you time and free you up to plan other things, if you intend on doing the food by yourself why not try to enlist the aid of one of your friends to help, but do try to prepare the food a few days ahead of time, except food that will not keep, buy or make enough ice cube to last through the party time, you cannot cater to everyones taste in alcohol maybe you can suggest that they can bring their own a word of advice please keep an eye on anyone that may take a little to much alcohol, never let them drive home, it may be wise to order a taxi for them.

A place in the home that sees a lot of use will be the bathroom, make sure to clean the bathroom before the party starts, and put in tissues, paper hand towels, toilet paper, with some spare rolls, and an air freshener, have a garbage bin ready and available with extra refill bag.

Are you going to allow smoking,let guest know where to smoke, ie, kitchen. or outdoors, put away any valuables or small items that may get broken or just disappear. with all the planning and running about try and leave yourself some time to relax, the party may go over big but you won't enjoy it if you fall asleep, Have a nice time !!!
