beautiful Lady Buccaneers, the attraction for a pirate costume was made further in demand by that rogueish Captain Jack
Sparrow in the movie Pirates-of-the-Caribbean, their real dress may well have come from clothing taken from plundered ships, and
this would have given them the opportunity to wear the very best of the rich clothing that would have been available to rich travellers.
A Pirates dress, as is often envisaged in films, books, and cartoons, suggests that his appearance would be a worn, unrefined, and
symbolizes a rogue personality and adventurous, seafaring lifestyle of the pirate, a bandana or a feathered tricorne, an eye patch, a hook or
wooden stump where a hand or leg has been amputated, normal cheap material trousers with wide legs, this would enable him to easily shed
his trousers if he ever finds himself in the sea, 17th century clothing, other appearance were often of the crew and would include, rotten or
missing teeth and other effects of scurvy, along with numerous scars, or other wounds acquired from battles, a pet monkey or parrot perched
on his shoulder, he would also have carrird a cutlass and a flintlock pistol, or other types of swords and guns.
Who were these sea robbers, their kind can be traced back many many hundreds of years, and came under many different names Buccaneers,
Corsairs, etc. From ancient times many of these robbers came from different nationalities to plunder and pillage, the golden age of piracy is
regarded as the period during the late seventeenth early eighteenth century. and considered to have begun around 1690 and ended roughly around
1730. and was mostly to be found in warmer waters as opposed to cold rainy areas of the world.
Historically these men were often sailors or soldiers who had fallen into misfortune, others may have been press ganged and forced to
serve at sea, depending on the moral fibre and social upbringing of a person, and in order to survive a respectable person may have signed
on to join a pirate ship, others may have been truly corrupt and evil, plundered booty from ships would have been divided, and much non
perishables like gold, silver, jewels may have been stored in strong chests and buried,

After their capture, both women escaped the death sentences by claiming to be pregnant. However, Mary Read died of a fever in jail. and Anne
