There are numerous types of Parties that can be held outside, planning may vary a little as opposed to the indoor party, You may want to barbecue, do you plan to prepare all the food yourself, or do you plan on using a catering service, I think this is a much easier way if there are going to be a lot of guests,

A housewarming party can be held when a person, or a couple, or a family move into a new house or apartment, it is an occasion for the hosts to present their new home to their friends, and for friends to gather, socialize, and enjoy refreshments such as alcoholic drinks and snack foods. In some cases, the friends and family members who are invited may bring gifts for the new home. Housewarming parties are generally informal, and there are usually no planned activities besides a tour of the new house, but there have been many a great barbecue party held in the back yard.

A Block Party is usually held out of doors it is a social event where a group of residents in the same neighborhood decide to throw a party at the same time, usually during the early evening hours. but may also include having a barbecue during the afternoon and maybe dancing and singing later in the evening, during such an event, partygoers are free to pass from house to house, socializing and often consuming alcohol.

A table or tables should be set up for the use of food, and all food outside should be covered, and a separate table for alcohol and non-alcohol beverages, and a ready available ice bucket, WITH THE ICE, not forgetting glasses for the beverages, Plates, cups, K,F,S should be there for the guests when ready for eating.

In the evening you will require lighting, floodlights, or strung lights can be rented to brighten up the area or you may have your own lights, seating must be considered and available for your guests, plans for Music, Entertainment, A DJ will be a consideration, and not forgetting the noise and your neighbors, outdoor party
