Leprechauns and St Patrick,s day

Frolicking green costumed Leprechauns carrying their Crock of Gold, this coupled with St.Patrick who is the Patron Saint of Ireland, is a day to be shared by all, St Patrick,s day falls on the 17th of March, this is a time to celebrate all that is Irish, Kids and Adult Costumes are ready and available at most costume and department store, Leprechaun-Costumes can vary in design and color but Green is the recognized color of the little people, if you intend on Making your own I suggest searching for photographs and patterns online or at a Craft shop.

Hosting a Party, have a little "green" fun with the following activities your children are sure to enjoy, make Irish Toast - Simply get a piece of sliced bread and paint shamrocks on it using a new, clean small tipped paintbrush and water mixed with green food coloring, then pop it in the toaster and serve when lightly browned,Make Shamrock Pancakes - Use a heart cookie cutter and cut 3 hearts out of the cooked pancake and form in a shamrock shape, Wear Green, If it is to be a costume affair don't forget to inform your guests as to the theme of the party.

For decorations make construction paper shamrocks - Cut 3 heart shapes out and arrange them in the shamrock shape and glue on construction paper, the Shamrock Plant, It is said that St Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the concept of the Trinity; which refers to the combination of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This is said to be one reason for the strong association with Shamrock and St. Patrick's day and name.

A Leprechaun-Trap, to try and catch the elusive crock of gold carrier, give the children boxes, string, ribbons, tape, glue, sticks, wood and other craft materials to help them make a the trap, have the children set the traps before going to bed, then while they are sleeping you can leave gold wrapped chocolate coins or something else special in each childs trap.

Laura-and-the-Leprechauns, is a timeless story of belief in those little people I am confident that the book is destined to become a classic in children's literature. It is a book that will endure time, should be added to school libraries, and makes a perfect gift of any occasion.
